This is one of the most common questions we receive - and the answer is essentially based on the underlying economics. The number of labels is based on an initial estimate. Since 100 labels cost less than one dollar, it’s more efficient to print extra. You can easily discard a few unused labels, but unlabelled packages lead to costly issues and delays. When every package has a label with the shipment details, a job number, and a unique barcode, the workflow becomes smoother, more reliable, and much less stressful.
Is there a magic formula, though, to figure out the right number of labels to print? Here is a guidance based on our many years of experience:- an average number of labels per 1 CBM (of packed household goods ) is 7. It means 1 label per 5 CUFT- For a 20" container the average is 220- For a 40" container the average is 450- For a 40" high cube container the average is 500.And since the cost of Zebra labels pales in comparison with the cost of a mislabeled piece, it's always recommended to print 10% extra on top of an estimate. If a shipment gets loaded at a residence there's no chance to print more labels. One can do it when a shipment comes to a warehouse, but it'll cost extra labor which is far more expensive than any label.
