I became aware of Moveware's existence from the FIDI Focus magazine. Its glossy copies were abundant in the reception and rest areas of the Ocean Israel where I toiled from 1991 to 2002 as a porter, packer and foreman. And ever since a crisp association has formed in my brain - FIDI - rest room - Ocean Company - Moveware.
Indeed, Moveware has spread widely throughout FIDI members. This move management system has been developed by two brothers brought up in a reputable Australian moving business.
Voxme was also founded by two brothers - one came from the high tech background, whilst the other as an ex packer. That’s why Voxme mobile apps Estimator, Digital Inventory and the Virtual survey, are in such high demand.
Moveware has made a valiant attempt to roll out a mobile app called Mobi that would cover both surveys and inventories. However, based on the feedback from many users, this project turned out to be unsuccessful. That would explain why many companies using Moveware as their main job management and invoicing system, would compliment it by Voxme products.
This product has launched in 2017 and became wide spread during the onset of the pandemics. During that time a lot of companies using Moveware, such as Gerson, Abels and other AGM group members, have come to appreciate the simplicity, reliability and economical efficiency of using Voxme Virtual Survey alongside Moveware.
A video survey with a recording stored in the cloud have grown on so many clients that they kept on using it after the pandemic lockdowns. Turned out that this combination allows to get around the drawbacks of Mobi and enter survey details right into the MoveWare desktop system - either based on the recorded video or live during the virtual survey.
The price of $3 per survey looked favorably compared to the competitors pricing (Crater/Shyft, Buzz Survey, Yambo) with the price tag of around $30 per survey and some dubious features which one could easily get away with. Interestingly enough, the MoveWare - Voxme symbiosis continues to this day and have grown to include companies such as Asian Tigers and Oman.
Two years ago during FIDI in Bangkok Voxme Bingo Portal was presented to the members. MoveWare didn’t attend though the rest areas in Shangri-La were more than fine.
For $300 Voxme Bingo Portal allows to launch Voxme Digital Inventory app on virtually any Android and Apple device with no limitations on the number of users. Packing inventory PDF for $3 thus becomes accessible on the “pay as you go” basis. This PDF can be shared with the transferee via email or any messenger at the end of the packout. Most importantly, the packing list is stored in the cloud portal where it can be found by job ref or client details.
An interesting panel discussion about digital transformation took place at the same FIDI conference in Bangkok. One of the panelists shared a colorful sentiment on the topic along the lines of “Obviously, I won’t change my CRM to enable digital inventory. It’s like getting divorced and married again at my tender age. Having said that, had certain aspects of a married life been offered at an affordable price, I’d certainly take full advantage of those”.
Since then hundreds of companies have taken advantage of the Voxme Portal Portal such as Digital Inventory, Cloud barcoded label printing and Digital bingo app for scanning based checkoff. Many movers have to find out that Voxme Bingo Portal compliments nice their main move management system be it MoveWare, SmartMoving, MovesAssist with or without any formal integration.
